We love helping our puppies transition smoothly into their forever homes, which is why we place such a strong focus on early habits. Following up on our recent discussion about balancing protection and isolation, we are diving deep into a topic many new families ask about: house-training.

In this week’s newsletter, we are discussing why saying “no” to pee pads and potty parks before puppies are vaccinated. While pee pads and similar items are often used to keep unvaccinated puppies safe, placing them near your puppy’s crate or exercise pen can actually create confusion and delay housebreaking. Instead, we intentionally build a strong foundation from the very beginning, teaching puppies to distinguish between their separate sleeping, eating, playing, and outdoor potty areas.
