This week in our Wisteria Tails Highlights 06-09-2018
Newsletter/Digest Online Version
This week has gone by so fast. Sailor had her puppies, we started testing some girls we have raised, and we've been trying to plan travel for getting Piper's puppies to their new homes (yes, we are planning early.) We also have a great grooming product to share with you.
Sailor had puppies on Tuesday. 8 boys and 1 girl! She is going to have to be strong with all those boys. One of our first litters we had 9 girls and 1 boy. Having almost all one gender is not a common thing around here. We have newborn pictures on our website here: Sailor Litter Born 06-05-2018
We've been keeping and raising some puppies anticipating retiring some of our other girls within the next couple of years. We started genetic testing this week. We sent off their DNA for genetic testing, have completed a couple of PennHip and OFA Elbows and anxiously awaiting their scores. We hope to be adding some new additions before too long.
Coordinating traveling plans for meeting families can sometimes take some creative thinking. We have puppies from this litter going to the west coast, east coast and states in-between. I want to give a BIG thank you to all of the families who have been so great at working with me, as I send out “hey, would this work for you?” emails. I then have to send out “No, that isn't going to work after all, but how about this?”
We received this adorable picture from a family last week. Isn't is the sweetest picture! So much happiness and puppy love there.
Amos (Breeze/Ego 4-1-18)
This time of year when Goldens are shedding their undercoat can mat so much easier. My little Gabby girl (Coton DeTulear) is shedding her baby coat and getting her adult one. No matter how much I brushed her, it felt like a few hours later she was all matted up again. (the struggle is real)
A “rake” type brush is amazing for helping to get out all that dead hair and then we use a soft pin type brush for the top. A friend told me about a wonderful de-matting grooming spray. This stuff is a miracle. It really helped me to get all the mats out of Gabby so much easier. Coat Dematter
Until next time,
Billy and Debbie

Puppies are most easily house trained when we take the lead, prevent accidents (by close observation and limited roaming), and praise for positive behaviors.
