I discovered Wisteria Goldens years ago while searching for our new fur baby. We were lucky enough to have the first pick of the litter—four girls and one boy—so the decision was easy. We picked up our Ivan at a nearby airport and shared many wonderful years together.
Debbie, the owner of Wisteria Goldens, kept in touch over the years. When we lost Ivan, I was devastated, convinced I could never love another dog again. Yet, Debbie was always there, taking my calls and listening to my many stories about Ivan.
Several months passed, and out of the blue, she told me that Ivan’s half-sister had just had her final litter—six boys! They shared the same father. My heart instantly melted, and I knew I was ready. I wanted to choose my puppy in person this time, so I flew from Indiana to Arkansas to visit them.
Wisteria Golden Ranch had recently moved to a new location, and as we drove up, I was in awe—not just of the puppies but of the incredible environment Debbie had built to give them the best start in life.
The ranch sits on a quiet road nestled atop a hill. As you approach, you pass a beautiful lake known as Golden Pond. If it hadn’t been 20 degrees that day, I imagine there would have been Goldens joyfully splashing in the water! Inside, the puppies are raised in a home-like setting—complete with a kitchen, dining area, and living room—ensuring they grow up well-socialized and comfortable in a family environment.
That’s where I first met six happy, bouncy, and utterly adorable puppies. It was immediately clear they were well cared for—clean, well-fed, and affectionate. They adored Debbie and Heather and interacted with them intimately, a testament to the love and attention they give them. My heart melted at the sight of those six smiling pups.
I was equally impressed by the dedicated spaces for new moms and their litters—everything was pristine, thoughtfully designed, and catered to the well-being of the puppies and their mothers. It was evident that every detail had been carefully planned to ensure the highest standard of care.
Debbie has every reason to be proud of what she has built. Beyond the incredible facility, she provides a wealth of information and support to adopting families. Her communication is excellent and accommodating when scheduling puppy selections and deliveries.
It took time to heal after losing Ivan, but when I was ready, there was no doubt in my mind—I would return to Wisteria Goldens. Debbie’s professionalism, integrity, and dedication to raising healthy, well-adjusted puppies are unmatched.
