I got a new Flip Video camera and this is my first attempt at taking puppy video!  They are 1 week old.

Thank you to the families that are providing wonderful homes for our babies!  It brings us much joy to raise our puppies knowing they are providing companionship like only a dog can do.

Thank you to all of the subscribers of our newsletter, blog, etc.  We enjoy having you in our Wisteria Family!

Dogs have this enormous ability to love unconditionally — we as humans could benefit from this trait!

Ernest McDermon owner of FrontWave Websites  added the viewer for me and is giving me lessons on how to use it!  Check it out and let me know what you think.

We are now going to be able to archive pictures, so that families will be able to see all the previous picture of our English Creme puppies — 3 weeks through 6 weeks.

This will also give us the opportunity to display more pictures of Wisteria Ranch without cluttering up the website.

They will be 8 weeks old on Thanksgiving day!  We are excited for them to be going to their new homes, as we know how much their new families are anxiously waiting for them!  With the holiday a few of them will be delayed in traveling, which works out for us to keep them just a little bit longer.

They spent their first night with the door closed on their crate last night — just a few little whines for about 5 minutes — all was quiet for about an hour.  Billy took them outside for a potty break and then they all slept peacefully until 5:00a this morning.

They are such great babies!

While we are sad, we are also very happy that Harley has found a wonderful forever home. Emily, Jim, and Ben picked up Harley yesterday to go to his new home.

Harley wasn’t quite sure about being in the back of the vehicle and was looking at Billy and I –

“Where you are letting them take me?”

Harley has already found a warm spot in front of their fireplace.  He is very fascinated with Ben (Emily and Jim’s son)  I believe Ben will have lots of wet kisses to come!

Thank you Emily and Jim for providing such a warm and loving home for Harley!  He is a very sweet boy and I know he will bring you lots of joy!

Their  litter of puppies are due on December 24th!  Christmas Eve babies.  (Well, if they arrive on their due date.) 

My daughter in law is also expecting her baby in December, so we are going to have lots of babies around!

Do you know how hard it is to get a puppy to be still on a bathroom scale at 7 weeks old? On a scale of 1 – 10, probably about an 13! LOL So, these weights are close, but I will not guarantee their accuracy!

The puppies now weigh:

Lt. Blue (Kristen) – 13.0
Red (Roe) – 12.0
Blue (Yogi) – 14.6
Purple (Betsy) – 12.8
Yellow (Nico) – 13.2
Pink (Daisy) – 12.0

They are all doing great! They are all sleeping in the crates at night. We haven’t put the doors on them yet, but tonight is the big night. We have set up gates and leave the laundry room door open during the day and they are now going up and down the stairs by themselves out to the back yard! They are keeping the laundry room clean and doing their business outside! They are such good puppies.

Kira, my webmaster has been recuperating from surgery, so 3 and 4 week pictures should be posted on the website shortly!

The puppies are doing very good!  Vega is starting to wean them — she spends more time away from them now.  They are eating solid food and drinking out of their water bowl — when they are not laying in them!  They are becoming the little escape artists and getting out of the area we have for them.  We took them out of the whelping box about a week ago. 

I heard a noise last night in the kitchen and upon investigation discovered they had all escaped their area and were following Vega around the house — too cute!  Seems we need to put up a higher board to keep them better contained!

They are playing well together and now take turns holding each other down so one becomes the victor over the other!  Pink girl seems to stay on bottom more than on top, but she is getting a few licks in now and then!

Well, tomorrow is 1 week, but wanted to get an update to you:

All the puppies are growing and doing well.  They all are growing consistently and steadily with no one falling behind or “taking” off in size.

We changed their ribbons this morning to allow more growing room!  They are only nursing and sleeping at this age.  We pick up them and cuddle and stroke them a couple of times a day in order to get them used to our presence without stressing mom or them.  The first couple of weeks, we allow them to just rest and grow and make our presence known in a quiet way.

Vega is now leaving the room for a few minutes at a time – she misses being in my office and comes for a short visit off and on now throughout the day.  The first couple of days she only leaves the pups for a short visit outside, which she will only do if I come with her.
